Daparak, Inc. is a full-service distributor of fluid handling and process equipment for the Municipal and Industrial based markets in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina since 1976. Our technical expertise and decades of experience in the pump industry allows us to implement applications for products requiring design, fabrication, and engineering. Many of our principals are leading manufacturers in the industry which includes Grundfos, NOV(Moyno), and Verder.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and enhancing existing client base through consistent visits and relationship building
  • Adding new business to the territory on a consistent basis
  • Meeting with and developing relationships with engineering houses
  • Keeping track of the business opportunities for the responsible territory and creating strategies accordingly
  • Sales monitoring along with profit for achieving sales target every quarter, semiannually and yearly as assigned
  • Sales presentation to clients, consulting engineers, conducting in-house seminars, trade show presentations, and participation in exhibitions
  • Assisting customers in troubleshooting
  • Monitoring competitors within accounts as to performance and pricing issues
  • Presenting a professional image to our clients and prospects

Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA degree preferred. Combination of education and experience considered
  • 2-3 years of outside sales experience required
  • Experience calling on industrial accounts (oil/gas, pharmaceutical, paper, poultry, automotive, chemical, etc.)
  • Ability to read and interpret basic blue prints and engineering drawings
  • Excellent customer relationship building skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite of products
  • Familiarity with Outlook and CRM systems is preferred
  • Travel required within sales territory (2-3 days a week)
  • Self-starter who is able to work in a fast-paced environment

What You Can Expect

The Sales Engineer is responsible for achieving sales targets as assigned by the Sales Managers. The candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining customer relationships with accounts in the assigned territory. Additionally, this position will require developing Industrial and Municipal markets for business growth. Customer face time is required for this position with travel, including overnight stays. The ideal candidate must reside within the sales territory.
